Teak is the ideal timber
from which to produce garden furniture. Teak has been used
for centuries in boat building and is virtually impervious
to weather and conditions, it does not rot or require preservatives
so you can leave your New Dawn Furniture exposed to the
elements of sun, rain, snow or frost, it is able to withstand
the rigours of adverse climate with its own oils for protection,
changing colour to a beautiful silver grey.
Occasional
washing with detergent or sugar soap will keep it clean,
a darker colour can be retained by regular applications
of a teak dressing, making sure that the furniture is washed
clean and is free from dust or dirt before applying. (We
do not recommend the use of a power wash).
Each piece of furniture is hand
made to the highest quality standards in our joinery
workshop, using original methods
of construction including mortice and tenon joints. Only
premium quality teak is used in the making of the New Dawn
Furniture range which comes from controlled and managed
forests where only trees over 20" (500mm) are cut
and replaced.
